Engineering Manager - DevOps

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate DevOps Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading our DevOps teams and implementing scalable, automated solutions for our applications, infrastructure, and testing.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of talented and high-impact DevOps engineers, providing cultural, technical, and hands-on leadership.
• Work closely with the Product teams to develop the best technical design and approach for product deployments within our AWS cloud environment.
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and schedules; manage the day-to-day activities of the DevOps team by defining, implementing, and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy for various SaaS products.
• Management of departmental resources, staffing, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class DevOps team
• Build and maintain the production Infrastructure and services within AWS.
• Resolve escalations arising from operations and work with various teams to solve problems.
• Collaborate with management and product teams to plan, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objective.
• Lead and inspire a group of skilled engineers focused on infrastructure and DevOps, ensuring the reliability and scalability of the Rewaa platform.
• Collaborating with software engineers to improve application development processes
• Implementing automated software deployment tools to streamline the development process
• Creating and maintaining suitable tracking dashboards and metrics to measure the performance of systems
• Collaborating with other departments to understand their software needs and develop solutions
• Regularly reviewing and optimizing the costs of cloud services and other operational expenses.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years of software development experience, with progressive leadership roles
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple teams or complex projects
• Extensible knowledge in DevOps tools, technologies, and processes
• Solid experience with AWS and understanding of scalable computing systems.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
• Strong experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence to plan, track, release, document, and support software products.
• Experience with monitoring tools, preferably DataDog for enabling monitoring for Production workloads.
• Hands-on experience with databases
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages.
• Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
• Experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services.
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) principles.
• Advanced project management skills, including budgeting and strategic planning.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, integrating engineering work with broader business goals.
• Experience in developing engineering talent and fostering a positive team culture.
• DevOps certifications in AWS Certified DevOps Engineer would be a plus
